Today experience both a beautiful old home considered to be one of the finest examples of a historic home in Canada and magnificent gardens! Join us for a wonderful, guided tour of Whitehern Historic House and Garden with a costumed interpreter. Since 1848 three generations of McQuestens lived in this Late Classical house which was built with many elements from different time periods. The influence of Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian styles can be seen everywhere as you wander this peaceful lush walled oasis in the heart of downtown. After a historical morning, we head to Dutch Mill Country Market for a lunch and flower shopping before we head to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a self-guided tour. In the spring the gardens come alive with brilliant and showy blooms from delicate and ephemeral flowering trees to bright and showy perennials. The gardens are constantly changing and may have short bloom times and are very weather dependent. This is the tour for anyone who loves watching home and garden shows
